Greco di Tufo DOCG White 6 x 75cl

  • Product description

Only the free-run must is used for this Greco, the spearhead of Cantine Marzo. The must is fermented with great care in temperaturecontrolled stainless steel tanks using selected indigenous yeasts. The wine then rests on the lees for six months to give complexity and structure.

Straw yellow with delicate golden reflections. On the nose, yellow peach and apricot, flint and orange blossom, with notes of Mediterranean scrub. When it opens, aromas of lime and lemon emerge. On the palate it is an intense, fresh and savoury wine, with a refreshing citrus fruit. The taste persists for a long time, leaving exquisite notes of almond, eucalyptus and lemon zest.

The freshness and flavour of this wine make it go very well with fish-based dishes such as salmon, seafood, grilled fish, but also with white meats and fresh cheeses. This Greco di Tufo, thanks to the particular balance between softness and hardness, is also perfect as an aperitif or drunk as an appetizer.

  • About the brand

The historical cellars of Greco di Tufo. Since 1647 in the heart of Irpinia. The Di Somma family embarked on an ambitious program of development of the Cantine di Marzo winery in 2009 with the goal of expressing the four-hundred-year-old tradition of one of Italy’s oldest wineries, the first to have ever produced the Greco di Tufo wine.

The winery is structured over many levels with a drop of more than 20 meters allowing the use of gravity when moving the must and the wine. This prevents drastic movements of the wine in the winemaking process. The winery uses the latest technology and first-class winemakers: Paolo Caciorgna and Emilia Tartaglione for the still wines, and Maurizio Baldi for the sparkling.

The winemaking process is followed very carefully so that the wine may express all the personality given by the territory. Thanks to this historical heritage and to vanguard winemaking techniques, the di Marzo winery is the proud witness of a tradition that dates back to the middle ages.
