Ghemme DOCG – Vigne Pelizzane 2010 (Nebbiolo) 6 x 75cl

2.5 acres of excellence! That is the best oriented, hill top portion of the prime vineyard from which Torraccia del Piantavigna has created its first cru. A special care and regard is given to these quality grapes as they are greentended, thinned out, harvested, vinified and aged separately. The westerly exposure combined with a clay-rich soil peculiar to the hills of Ghemme, allow for the creation of a unique wine whose complexity and elegance reflectshow the company has come a long way in wine making and even some.

Torraccia of Piantavigna started in the early 1850’s from a small vineyard planted by Peter Piantavigna. They are situated in Ghemme, in Upper Piedmont, at the foot of Monte Rosa, one of the most emblematic Italian mountains.

 

Today they have an area of 38 hectares planted with native grapes of great tradition in the region such as Nebbiolo and Erbaluce. The company produces high quality wines, among which stand out in excellence, the Ghemme and the Gattinara DOCG.

 

Torraccia del Piantavigna wines have been the subject of numerous awards and prizes over the years. A blend of tradition and innovation, applied in the vineyards and in the cellar, results in wines of great calibre.
