Barolo DOCG - Monvigliero 2018 (Nebbiolo) 6 x 75cl
Product description
Slavonian and Allier oak barrels for 36 months. Bottling in the summer without fining or filtration. 9 months in bottle before release. The symbolic vineyard of Verduno, a bulwark of elegance in Barolo. Aromas of a Levantine smokehouse, rich and light in flavour, whose salty trail traces a finale image of clear purity.
Product description
In Verduno, a small village in the Langhe, Gian Battista Burlotto started his activity as grape-producer and wine-maker as early as 1850. In his cellars, one of the first Barolo wines of the last century was born; it came from the Monvigliero ‘cru’, one of the most prestigious grapevines. His wines and labels were displayed at the main European wine fairs, from Milan to Paris, collecting 32 gold medals.
Burlotto was chosen as the only wine supplier for the expedition to the North Pole organised by the Duke of Abruzzi in 1899 and also supplier to the Italian Royal house.
The G.B. Burlotto Winery has remained a family-run business where all phases, from growing grapes to production and sales, are now undertaken by the owner, Marina Burlotto, her husband, Gisueppe Alessandria, and their children Fabio and Cristina who represent the fourth and fifth generations at the helm the company. They continue today to produce classic wines of the region.
